MMU Orientation Week (July Intake 2017/18) : OH FRESHIES!
Assalamualaikum and a good day to all upcoming students who are going to attend Multimedia University in Cyberjaya/Melaka!
I'll be mostly talk about the ones in Cyberjaya cause I can only take my course here which is Foundation in Creative Multimedia.
Not to waste your time reading this, so let's get on to the story, shall we?
17th July 2017, marks the day I first entered MMU. I flew across South China Sea from Sabah to KL (I'm the only one from Sabah huhu) just to register and further my studies as a university student. I've been to MMU before btw, my dad was an ex-student of MMU in FCI (FCI people put yo hands up!) and graduated on the year of 2010.
My family and I went into the Caunselour Hall and to see that lots of parents/families with their children/niece/nephews/cousins (you get it right?) just 'wow' me. All students have to go inside the hall while parents/families have to stay outside while us, students have to register stuffs on our own.
I entered the hall and went to find the Course counter, found my course, queue up, take my offer letter with a green slip and went to off to the next counter beside it. A senior(?) gave me a MMU bag with MMU t-shirt, student handbook etc. inside it. Ah! After I gave the green slip of course.
Tips : Please write your ID no. and your name (I can't remember if they told you to write your course) on the green slip before giving it to the worker.
I almost forgot about going to the next counter and they'll asked you if you're a vegetarian or not and they'll give you a sticker with a number (it's for your group number during the orientation, obviously)
Then, I go to the Finance counter to give my online payment for my hostel (yes, it's better to pay online rather than using cash). I've got my receipt and a person told me to seat down on the chairs they provide. Oh, I met someone too! We kinda got confused with everything, glad to help each other out.
Both of us went to a short briefing by an OC then he told us to come back at 2.30pm sharp. After we've been dismissed, I went back to my homestay and got some sleep (cause it was tiring, I swear!).

Orientation starts (for 5 days)! Not gonna talk about the whooooooooooooooole week, just a summary of my favourite moments.
Grouping - we've been separated into 12 groups and I'm in group 5. We have this group session to introduce ourselves, make our group, cheer, planning for performance. yea those things.
Opening ceremony - the ceremony was celebrated not only in Cyberjaya but in Melaka and Nusajaya at the same time via video conference. We're on the big screens! Nice! But sadly, Nusajaya isn't there :((
Sports session - OUR GROUP HAD A FUN TIME REALLY DESPITE RAMADAN MONTH HAHAHAHA
Breaking fast & Taraweeh - enjoyable but I didn't eat much cause I don't feel like eating a lot. Great experience taraweeh with other muslims students and OCs.
Freshies Day/Performance night - No words can describe how much I love that day. It was super super fun and enjoyable and it was a PARTY!
Closing ceremony - All 'freshies' were gathered from Cyberjaya to Nusajaya at the Caunselour Hall to end the orientation week. They're over 2k+ students all together (I'm sorry if I miscounted) and we had memorable moments.
Yeah, I guess that's about it. I'm not there til the end during the last day of orientation cause I have to go back to my hometown for Eid :))
Alright, freshies! I'm going to end this here. Yes, I'll be posting about my first week of studying here and also after a month? Goodbye!

* comment if you have any questions out of your curiousity and I'll reply to you! 😘
